Tax Preparer Position at Jackson Hewitt

Start a new skill and join our Jackson Hewitt team this tax season. We are looking for dependable, customer-focused individuals to join our team as Tax Preparers at Jackson Hewitt locations in Southwest Florida. No previous tax preparation experience is required. Entry-level candidates are welcome. Selected candidates will complete required tax preparation training before beginning tax-preparation duties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable using a computer, pays attention to detail, and wants to learn a valuable professional skill.

What You Will Do:

• Meet with clients and gather the information needed to prepare their tax returns
• Prepare individual income tax returns using Jackson Hewitt systems and procedures
• Ask appropriate questions and perform required due diligence
• Explain tax information and filing options clearly and professionally
• Review returns for accuracy and completeness
• Protect confidential client and taxpayer information
• Provide friendly, professional customer service
• Follow Jackson Hewitt and IRS procedures and office standards

Training:

Previous tax preparation experience is not required. Selected candidates must successfully complete the required tax training before preparing tax returns for clients. Training takes place before tax season so you are prepared when our offices become busy.

What We Are Looking For:

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable working with computers and learning new software
• Good attention to detail
• Dependable and professional
• Willingness to learn tax preparation
• Ability to work in person at a Jackson Hewitt office
• Ability to obtain the required IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number before preparing paid tax returns
• Previous tax experience is welcome but not required

Schedule:

These are seasonal tax-season positions. Work schedules vary by office and business needs.
