Job Summary

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for coordinating the accurate and timely inbound and outbound flow of goods through the warehouse. This role involves receiving, inspecting, storing, and preparing materials for shipment while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders/packing slips, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
• Unload trucks and containers using pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts as needed.
• Accurately pick, pack, and label outbound orders for shipment.
• Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork where applicable.
• Update inventory management systems to reflect received and shipped goods in real time.
• Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas to maximize space and ensure easy access to inventory.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with periodic physical inventory audits.
• Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company and OSHA safety standards.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely (forklift, pallet jack, dolly) and complete required certifications.
• Communicate with internal teams (purchasing, sales, customer service) regarding shipment status and issues.
• Support production by gathering supplies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory or warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience with Starship and Ship Station a plus

Work Environment

• Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures.
• May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Some overtime or shift flexibility may be required based on shipment volume.
