Electric Motor MechanicThe Electric Motor Mechanic plays a key support role in the repair of electro-mechanical equipment at our Odessa shop. This entry-level, hourly position is designed to provide hands-on training and foundational knowledge of electric motor operations while following strict safety procedures. Working under the guidance of experienced electric motor mechanics, the Electric Motor Mechanic develops essential skills, builds industry expertise, and grows technical abilities over time.This is a learning-focused, supportive role. The Electric Motor Mechanic contributes through observation and hands-on tasks rather than independent decision-making, gaining an understanding of key concepts, terminology, equipment, job purpose, and procedures while handling support tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral DutiesPerform work on a wide range of motor types (synchronous, induction, servo, etc.)Perform basic inspection and measurement of electric motors.Recognize types of electric motors (AC, DC, single-phase, three-phase) and identify their parts.Operate shop power and test equipment.Follow supervisor instructions, work steadily until each project is complete, and keep the supervisor informed of job status.Learn to provide a high level of service by responding to needs and working to satisfy expectations.Learn EASA standards and what it means to be an EASA-certified shop.Demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve.Learning & DevelopmentLearn electric motor purposes, components, functions, and terminology.Learn to identify common equipment failure causes.Learn the division's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Understand the importance and reasoning behind safety protocols, best practices, troubleshooting methods, and quality standards.Observe equipment, learn to identify potential hazards, and assist in making necessary adjustments.Learn company-specific software.Installation & PlanningHelp plan and modify repairs to minimize material waste and ensure accessibility for future maintenance.Understand the importance and reasoning behind best practices such as consistency, safety, quality, and efficiency.QualificationsExperience with electric motors or field service is preferred.Experience as a mechanic, in construction, or in a related field service job is preferred.Must possess basic computer and math skills.Must have strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.Ability to communicate effectively.Must be able to pass a criminal background check.Must be able to work 40 hours per week (excluding holidays and PTO) on a regular basis.Must be available to work additional hours as needed; overtime is anticipated.Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift heavy components up to 75 lbs.Ability to stand, walk, climb, push, pull, crouch, and kneel for extended periods.Work EnvironmentThis role involves working indoors in a shop environment with exposure to mechanical, electrical, and environmental hazards and varying temperatures.The work area may be very noisy and may require ear protection.Travel is not anticipated for this position.Why Join Brandon & Clark?Brandon & Clark, Inc. is a well-established electro-mechanical company founded in 1950.
